Leave it to my kid sis for showing me all the cool things in life. Sarah led me through a session on yoga today that kicked my ass! She also signed me up on facebook, where I have just spent the past few hours tinkering around. Gotta luv that girl!
Sar and I head to Vail tomorrow where we'll connect up with my bf Kara. There is sure to be trouble in store. I will have to post more details later...

home for the holidays
We kicked off my first evening home in Colorado with a jam session. Check out the band in our own rendition of "In My Place" by Coldplay.
Only thing we were missing was a little of the doobie...
Mom - filming
Sarah - lead guitar
Cooper - drums
Me - guitar and lousy lead vocals :)
Dad - bass, back up singer, and entertainment
Good to be at home with the fam!

i'm not there yet
... and that's okay. My sis said those words to me tonight and they really resinated with me. I realized I'm not there yet, either. I'm not over the pain of my lost relationship. I'm not over the anger and the loneliness either. I have also yet to crack what it is I really want from this life. I haven't uncovered the answers to finding true joy, love, inner peace, and grace. Nope, not there yet... and that's okay.
Thanks for the reminder, sis. I love you so dearly.

mrs. bubbles
I used to do laundry at my boyfriend's house. When we broke up, the thing I hated most was having to take my clothes to the laundry mat. Now, I've grown to love it! Ya, there are a bunch of crazies that hang around there. I got hit on once by a guy who worked for Brite Smile. Yeek! The place is called Mrs. Bubbles. How fitting really...cheesy place, cheesy name. It has at least 20 dryer sheets swirling around the floor at any given time, which also drives me completely insane. Two loads plus dry time is about 6 bones in quarters. But... they have free wireless and sometimes the mindless task can be the most satisfying.

the cheering section
Doog and I got together tonight because we shared Thanksgiving Day together and hardly even said a word to one another. I must admit, I was so caught up playing guitar hero that day that my ability to be social took a hit.
Doogie became the first recipient of the annual Holiday Mix that I will be sending out to many of you. I figured he would be a good test case and tell me if my songs are too "poppy." The problem is that iTunes is always giving me recommendations, most of which are mainstream. Okay, okay... bad excuse. Guilty pleasure #1... pop music.
Doogie and I talked about our experiences moving from CO to Cali. We both agreed that establishing a community is a crucial element. Doog coined a better word for it, calling community your own 'cheering section.' It got me thinking about my own cheering squad. My gals from cycling (whether VG, Code 3 or that GGS Clinic) would certainly fall in that category. I can't forget the rest of my crew: Doog, JZ, Yannikin, Cyclist Rick, Stella, Kara, and Teef. It's a good feeling to know that I've got people in the stands willing and ready to break into song if need be. I just hope that they know that I can hoot 'n holler for them too.
"Be Aggressive... B... E... Aggressive. B... E... AGG.... RESS... IVE!!!!"
Well, off to bed. I finally opened that bottle of Pinot from Navarro that I found the other week and it's 'killing me softly'....
